Why Brisbane Is a Driver's Paradise
Brisbane sits at the intersection of coastal flats and dramatic hinterland ranges. Within 30 minutes of the CBD, you'll find winding mountain roads, sweeping valley views and subtropical rainforest corridors — all perfectly sealed and ready for a luxury car. Whether you want tight switchbacks in a Ferrari or grand touring in a Rolls-Royce, Brisbane delivers.
Mount Glorious Loop — The Classic
The Mount Glorious loop is Brisbane's most iconic driving road. Starting from The Gap, you'll climb through dense rainforest on tight, technical corners that reward precise inputs. The road surface is excellent and the canopy overhead creates a natural tunnel of green. At the summit, stop at the Mount Glorious Café for coffee before descending via Mount Nebo Road.

Drive the loop anti-clockwise (up via Mount Glorious Road, down via Mount Nebo Road) for the best sequence of corners and views. Weekday mornings are quietest — you'll often have the road to yourself.
The total loop is approximately 60 km and takes about 1.5 hours without stops. We recommend a mid-engine sports car like the Ferrari 488 Spider for maximum engagement on the tight switchbacks.
Mount Nebo Road — Flowing and Fast
If Mount Glorious is tight and technical, Mount Nebo Road is its flowing counterpart. Wider, smoother and with longer corners, it's ideal for GT cars and luxury SUVs. The road traces the ridgeline with occasional glimpses of Moreton Bay through the trees. There are several lookout points where you can pull over for photographs.
For this road, we recommend the McLaren 720S — its carbon fibre chassis and hydraulic suspension are perfectly suited to flowing mountain roads where you can carry speed through long-radius bends.
Lake Wivenhoe Circuit — The Grand Tourer
For a longer drive, head northwest to Lake Wivenhoe. The route takes you through the Brisbane Valley with wide-open farmland, gentle hills and smooth highway sections. It's the ideal grand touring route — comfortable, scenic and long enough to settle into a rhythm. Stop at the Wivenhoe Dam lookout for panoramic views of the reservoir.

D'Aguilar Range — The Hidden Gem
The D'Aguilar National Park roads are less well-known but equally rewarding. Accessed from Samford Valley, these roads wind through pristine bushland with virtually no traffic. The surface is good but narrow in places — it's a road that rewards patience and precision rather than outright speed.
