Why Photograph Your Supercar Hire

You've hired a Lamborghini for the weekend. The experience deserves to be documented. Whether you're creating content for social media, marking a milestone birthday or simply want a lasting memory, Brisbane offers world-class backdrops for automotive photography. Here are our team's favourite spots — tested with our own fleet.

Story Bridge — The Iconic Shot

Brisbane's Story Bridge is the definitive backdrop for car photography. The steel cantilever structure, illuminated at night in changing colours, creates a dramatic frame for any vehicle. The best vantage point is from Bradfield Highway on the Fortitude Valley side, where you can capture the bridge's full span behind the car.

Velo Insider Tip

Blue hour (20 to 30 minutes after sunset) is the magic window. The sky retains colour while the bridge lights are fully illuminated. Arrive early to scout your exact position — this spot is popular with photographers.

Howard Smith Wharves — Urban Luxury

The restored heritage wharves beneath Story Bridge combine industrial textures — exposed brick, timber beams, river views — with a polished modern aesthetic. The cobblestone arrival area is perfect for a Rolls-Royce or Range Rover. During golden hour, the warm sandstone cliffs above create a natural reflector that flatters every paint colour.

Kangaroo Point Cliffs — City Skyline Panorama

The clifftop road at Kangaroo Point provides an unobstructed view of the Brisbane CBD skyline. Position the car with the city lights behind it for a hero shot that captures both the vehicle and the city. The car park at the southern end of the cliffs is quiet in the evenings and offers multiple angles.

South Bank Parklands — Tropical Vibes

The streets surrounding South Bank — particularly Grey Street and Melbourne Street — feature wide boulevards lined with jacaranda trees (spectacular in October and November). The Queensland Art Gallery and GOMA provide clean, modernist architectural backdrops. Early morning on weekdays is best for empty streets.

Eagle Farm Racecourse — Our Home Turf

Our showroom is located near Eagle Farm Racecourse, and the surrounding streets offer wide, clean roads with minimal traffic. The racecourse grandstand provides a grand backdrop, while the adjacent aviation precinct features hangars and private jets for that ultimate luxury lifestyle shot.

Supercar Photography Tips

Timing: Golden hour (first hour after sunrise, last hour before sunset) and blue hour produce the most dramatic results.
Angle: Shoot from a low angle to emphasise the car's stance and proportions. Front three-quarter and rear three-quarter are the classic angles.
Cleanliness: Ensure the car is freshly detailed. We deliver every vehicle show-ready, but a quick wipe of fingerprints before shooting makes a difference.
Reflections: Wet roads after rain create spectacular reflections. Brisbane's afternoon storms often clear by sunset, leaving damp streets that mirror city lights.
Phone vs Camera: Modern smartphone cameras (iPhone 16 Pro, Samsung S25 Ultra) produce excellent results. Shoot in 2x or 3x zoom to avoid wide-angle distortion of the car's lines.
